Hello Indivisibles,
The fight for our democracy continues with the help of your dedication and passion for advocacy throughout all communities. While the egregious grasps for power are relentless, our efforts are not in vain, and our voices will be heard. Let’s keep the pressure on Elon because a federal judge has blocked Musk’s USAID cuts, finding them unconstitutional; another federal judge has also fought back against Trump’s transgender military ban, citing its nonsensical discrimination of these decorated and honorable servicemembers. We are still watching Trump’s absolutely insane attempt to enact the Alien and Seditions Act of 1798 unfold, but we’re hoping Justice Robert’s rebuke of Trump holds weight– this week, he rejected Trump’s call to impeach the judge who overruled his unspeakable deportation plan. Indivisibles, must keep the pressure on. Our work matters, and we WILL make a difference.
📌Overall Update📌
We are all fired up and ready to hit the streets. We’d like to remind our members that if you’re attending any Indivisible event, we must do so safely and peacefully. We will not allow trolls to have us devolve and put anyone in harm’s way. Please protect yourself and review Indivisible’s guide to safe protest. This guide also includes your rights as a protester and how to navigate this challenging time.
Stay on sidewalks and public areas—do not block business entrances or trespass on private property.
Stay on Message: This is about Musk’s political takeover, not Tesla, SpaceX, or X as companies.
No Business Targeting
IF A COUNTER PROTESTER APPROACHES:
Don’t respond and stay calm
Do not engage, even if they scream at you
You can nod your head, but don’t speak
Move slowly to a different location
You can turn your back, but never turn your back if the person has a weapon
Stay away from the street so no one can push you into the street
We all go into our Fight, Flight or Freeze instinct, so you may not be able to think
straight.
Have an awareness of your surroundings; introduce yourself to those standing on
either side of you.
If needed, be prepared to step in and be an ally for someone who is being bullied
by a counter protester.
Walk anyone who is vulnerable to their car at the end of the protest.
Do your best!

Whether you've been in the fight for years or you're just fed up and ready to take action -- this moment is for you. On April 5, national and local organizations are coming together across the country to organize for Hands Off!, a national mass activation in defiance of the Trump-Musk billionaire takeover and the Republican assault on our freedoms and our communities. This is a space for connection, creativity, resistance, and action. Whether you're coming to be inspired, to dance, to build with others, or to take direct action, your presence is part of the movement. Resistance is not just struggle—it’s also joy, community, and the power we create together.
IMCPANF To-Do List:
We must stay focused on taking back the House in the special elections! The Republicans will soon only have 217 House members to the Democrats’ 215. That means if Democrats win all three special elections, this year, they will have a House majority and the ability to thwart much of Trump’s agenda. TO DO:
Research Gay Valimont of Florida. Phone bank for Gay. Donate to Gay.
Research Joshua Weil of Florida. Phone bank for Joshua. Donate to Joshua.
Research Blake Gendebien of New York. Phone bank for Blake. Donate to Blake.
All hands must be on deck to STOP THE SAVE ACT which will disenfranchise millions of people. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act would require all American citizens registering to vote or updating their registration information to present documentary proof of citizenship in person. For the vast majority of Americans, this would be a passport or birth certificate. Not the Real ID.
End online and mail-in voter registration.
Government-issued driver’s licenses—including REAL IDs—as well as military or tribal IDs do not satisfy the bill’s requirements.
The legislation would invert the responsibility to verify a person’s eligibility and citizenship status from election officials and the government onto every single American citizen, making citizens convince the government that they’re eligible to exercise their right to vote.
The SAVE Act would change the way all citizens register to vote upon enactment. It would upend online voter registration, make it impossible to mail in a registration application, and eliminate voter registration drives.
Send a letter to TELL CONGRESS TO STOP THE SAVE ACT:
Phone banking, we must get the word out about what the SAVE Act is really about so join in and make some calls. I know it’s uncomfortable, but it must be done.
Why you should phonebank:
Supportive: We provide everything you need—training, scripts, and support.
Powerful: Congress reports being flooded with calls—let's keep up the pressure.
Engagement: These complex issues require personal connection with other Americans.
Community: You're not alone. Our national network of volunteers are all working together on common goals.
Indivisible National Calls to Action To-Do List:
The message is clear: If Chuck Schumer is unwilling to lead the opposition, he must make way for someone who will. Accordingly, Indivisible National issued an official statement calling for his resignation.
This is not a decision we take lightly. For years, we fought alongside Senator Schumer to push for progressive policies and hold the line against Republican extremism. But his capitulation on the Republican funding bill was not just a failure of strategy -- it was a failure of leadership. And if he will not fight in this defining moment, then we must demand someone who will. Indivisibles deserve a Democratic party, and leadership of that party, who is committed to fighting as hard as we are.
A minority leader who is unwilling to fight back against fascism is a weakness our democracy cannot afford. We need to pressure every single Democratic senator to speak out and join us in calling for new leadership that is prepared to lead a unified opposition to Trump and Musk.
For folks with Democratic senators, here are two actions you can take right away:
Before Senate offices open tomorrow, use our form to send an email to your Democratic senator and ask them to call on Senator Schumer to step down as Minority Leader.
Then, tomorrow morning, use our click-to-call page to call your Democratic senator and urge them to call on Senator Schumer to step aside.
Thanks for your great efforts. Keep up the great work, and be safe!
Cait, Dean, Karen, and Kelly
