Hello Indivisibles,
Each passing day brings a litany of news at break-neck speed. With your help, we are staying vigilant, informed, and ready to take action. This week’s message is quite a doozy, so get ready to fill your calendars and be heard! Today in particular, we are celebrating Governor Shapiro’s successful thwart of the unconstitutional freeze of federal funds– thank, Josh! We’ve also seen some success in DEI slashes being overturned. Let’s keep it up!
📌Overall Update📌
Our first protest at Warminster’s Tesla dealership on 2/22 was a big hit. Our voices were loud and proud, and the community rallied to support us. The press was there to highlight our efforts, and some members made their way to the Westchester rally as well. Shout out to Indivisible Chester County for putting together this wonderful video featuring a fun folk song!
IMCPANF received some quick coverage from NBC when our co-chairs, Kelly and Karen attended Chrissy Houlahan’s town hall in Phoenixville Monday night to voice concerns over Musk’s takeover and the federal job cuts. The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville was packed with constituents wanting to make change.
Volunteers Needed! We are in need of some help for our next in-person meeting on 3/9/25. If you’re interested in being a greeter or helper in any way, please email imcpanf@gmail.com; we are in great need of folks’ help since our membership is growing, and we’d like to ensure that our meetings go smoothly.
For March’s meeting, we will be hosting a food drive benefiting Martha’s Choice in Norristown. Prepare any donations of nonperishable items and bring them with you to our Sunday, 3/9 meeting. Read more here!

📌Events📌
TOMORROW, 2/28/2025: Don’t forget: The planned economic blackout coming up TOMORROW, Friday, 2/28. While Indivisible National’s stance has not been supportive of boycotts, we are aware that this is an accessible way for our members to participate in the resistance. Please research and discuss with others.

SATURDAY, 3/8/2025: International Women’s Day Unite and Resist Rally at the Montgomery County Courthouse. This is a powerful opportunity to stand together in solidarity as women face relentless attacks by this administration. With our rights under siege—from aggressive assaults on abortion rights to attacks on our voting rights with the SAVE Act to a broader erosion of protections that impact every woman—we must unite to resist and demand change.
SUNDAY, 3/9/2025:Exciting opportunity for Indivisible Montgomery County, PA & Friends to meet and hear from State Senator, Katie Muth! Katie will be joining our next in-person meeting on Sunday, 3/9 to share some updates and take questions from us. RSVP here!
SATURDAY, 3/22/2025: Musk or Us Peaceful Protest at Tesla Warminster. We will once again be rallying at Tesla in Warminster to stop DOGE. The world’s richest man isn’t just enabling Trump—he’s an unelected billionaire seizing control of government power for his own gain. This isn’t just about MAGA lawlessness—it’s about billionaire-driven authoritarianism, corporate overreach, and systemic corruption. To fight back, we have to meet Musk where he operates—across the country at Tesla showrooms, factories, and dealerships. A Tesla protest is a powerful way to expose his deep ties to the Trump coup and demand accountability.
IMCPANF To-Do List:
We must stay focused on taking back the House in the special elections! The Republicans will soon only have 217 House members to the Democrats’ 215. That means if Democrats win all three special elections, this year, they will have a House majority and the ability to thwart much of Trump’s agenda. TO DO: research and support: Gay Valimont of Florida, Joshua Weil of Florida, and Blake Gendebien of New York.
All hands must be on deck to STOP THE SAVE ACT which will disenfranchise millions of people.
The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act would require all American citizens registering to vote or updating their registration information to present documentary proof of citizenship in person. For the vast majority of Americans, this would be a passport or birth certificate. Not the Real ID.
End online and mail-in voter registration.
Government-issued driver’s licenses—including REAL IDs—as well as military or tribal IDs do not satisfy the bill’s requirements.
The legislation would invert the responsibility to verify a person’s eligibility and citizenship status from election officials and the government onto every single American citizen, making citizens convince the government that they’re eligible to exercise their right to vote.
The SAVE Act would change the way all citizens register to vote upon enactment. It would upend online voter registration, make it impossible to mail in a registration application, and eliminate voter registration drives.
Indivisible National Calls to Action To-Do List:
The other night, every House Republican -- with only one exception -- voted for a budget framework that would gut Medicaid and other life-or-death programs in order to fund tax cuts for the rich. The sole no vote wasn’t some profile in courage, if you were wondering. It was a guy who thought the bill should have taken more money from hungry kids and struggling families.
But this fight is far from over. This vote was a nonbinding “concept of a plan.” It was written to be as vague as possible, so Republicans could cast their vote and then look constituents in the eye and say “no, I didn’t vote to take away your health insurance! I’d never do that!”
The hard part for Republicans comes next -- because now they have to write a bill that fulfills last night’s promise to cut $2 trillion from the budget. And spoiler: That can only be done by taking away their constituents’ healthcare and a lot of other stuff they depend on. It’s going to be very unpopular. It’s going to make constituents very angry. And it’s going to cost people their lives.
To come anywhere close to the kind of cuts Republicans are talking about, Medicaid would have to be slashed by about $800 billion over the next decade. Quick facts:
72 million Americans rely on Medicaid.
41% of births in the US are paid for by the program.
Medicaid is the primary payer for nursing home care (something felt not just by those requiring the care, but their adult children as well)
One estimate suggests 36 million people could lose their healthcare coverage as a result of the bill.
