Good Morning Indivisibles,
We’d like to thank everyone who joined us in-person or via Zoom for our second meeting on Sunday, 2/9 (see our photos attached). It is clear that we, the people, are a growing force to be reckoned with, and we are ready to take a stand against the unprecedented attack on democracy by the Felon and Musk-in-chief. When we come together, we will make our voices heard. We are a new group, are trying some innovative things, and had a very full agenda. We are grateful for your patience as we navigated mic issues. Please check out the updates below to take action with us! LET’S KEEP THE PRESSURE ON.
Overall Update
Ready to march? We have become aware of and are supporting a Presidents’ Day protest on Monday at 11:30am at City Hall. This is being run by 50501 and has been vetted by Indivisible members; however we are not affiliated. We are very excited to support this new group, share the opportunity and our network. Permits have been secured, police have been notified, and if the crowd is large enough, they will shut down the parkway (marching from city hall to art museum). Check out Invisible’s tips for protesting.
Projects up for grabs! Looking for a creative way to get involved? Log into our website focus group page and check out our list of projects up for grabs. Comment with your thoughts to get some of these things moving. We need members willing to take on outreach efforts in diverse communities, someone to head child care efforts for our next meeting, a zoom moderator for our meetings, and a focus group leader for a Health and Sciences focus group.
Stay connected and active. We have multiple ways to collaborate:
Join our Signal group: Email imcpnf@gmail.com with “Signal” in the subject line.
Website focus groups: Check our homepage for directions on how to join. This is where the active collaboration, brainstorming, and action-planning begins.
Check out Resistbot and use it daily.
Check out 5 Calls and use it daily.
We are starting a Coffee & Chat Meetup for an informal social gathering at least once a month outside of the regular meeting. We also need to take time for fun so we don't burn out over the next 4 years. We are in this for the long haul. We have a tough fight ahead of us, so we will all need each other, because together we are stronger! Date: Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 at 9:30am at Wegman's Cafe for Coffee & Chat. Keep checking our website events to attend.
We’d like to extend an enormous thank you to everyone who has donated to our Act Blue page in the past month! We were able to raise a total of $1269. This will allow us to continue hosting in-person meetings, create accessible marketing materials, purchase supplies for better sound/mic, and future rallies to support our cause. We look forward to keeping the hard work up with your support.
Indivisible National Calls to Action To-Do List:
Donald Trump and Elon Musk are staging an administrative coup, trying to illegally eliminate agencies, seize control of the U.S. government's payment systems, and gain access to sensitive data on all Americans without any oversight. It's time to fight back like our democracy depends on it. Demand Democrats fight back and hold Republicans accountable for the Trump-Musk power grab.
Donald Trump’s executive order is a desperate and unconstitutional overreach, revealing his willingness to gamble with the rights of newborns and the foundations of American democracy. By targeting the 14th Amendment, Trump has overplayed his hand, exposing the cruelty and extremism of his agenda. This is a fight we can and must win. Let’s deliver the blowback this attack deserves.
Every Republican senator (except McConnell) shares responsibility for what’s happening right now, but a few of them -- Senators Susan Collins (ME), Thom Tillis (NC), Dan Sullivan (AK), Jon Husted (OH), and Joni Ernst (IA) -- hail from purple(ish) states AND face reelection next year.
We’ve just launched a new campaign -- the Payback Project -- to turn these senators into cautionary tales. We’re going to pour resources into these states to shine a light on their complicity, hold them accountable for all the damage they’ve enabled, and kick them out of office. If you’ve already chipped in to support this effort, thank you. If not, and you’re able to do so, please start a monthly donation or give once to help us defeat these coup enablers and retake the Senate in 2026.
